Descriptive Text is one type of text in English that clearly describes the properties attached to something, be it humans, animals, plants or inanimate objects. The purpose of this text is to provide clear information about the object being depicted to the reader.

To describe in general about a famous recreation place.


Generic Structure of Descriptive Text

When writing descriptive text, there are some generic structures (actually not mandatory) for our writing to be true. The arrangement is:

1. Identification: (contains about the introduction of a person, place, animal or object will be described.)

2.  Description: contains a description of something such as animal, things, place or person by describing its features, forms, colors, or anything related to what the writer describe.


Purpose of Descriptive text

1. To describe person, thing or place in specific

2. To describe a particular person, thing or place.


Language Feature of Descriptive Text

– Specific participant : has a certain object, is not common and unique (only one). for example: Bandengan beach, my house, Borobudur temple, uncle Jim

– The use of the adjective (an adjective) to clarify the noun, for example: a beautiful beach, a handsome man, the famous place in jepara, etc.

– The use of simple present tense: The sentence pattern used is simple present because it tells the fact of the object described.

– Action verb: verbs that show an activity (for example, run, sleep, walk, cut etc….

Malaysia has a number of tourist attractions that can be visited. If you are bored with the atmosphere of a city full of tall buildings and skyscrapers, Genting Highlands is one of the tourist attractions in Malaysia. This tourist spot is not far from Kuala Lumpur. It is estimated that the location is about 45 minutes from Kuala Lumpur.

Genting Highlands is located at the top with an altitude of about 1,800-2,000 meters above sea level. So if you want to travel there, don't forget to bring a jacket and warm clothes. When visiting Genting Highlands you will feel the cool mountain air. Plus the trees that are still shady.

Genting Highlands Resorts is an integrated area with hotels, casinos and playgrounds. The casino is one that is quite popular in Genting Higlands, considering that the casino is also legal. At these tourist spots, you can also try the cable car or cable car, which is the longest in Southeast Asia.

When riding the cable car, you can see the beauty of the shady forest in the Genting Highlands. The cable car has a height of about 1,000 meters above sea level. You will be presented with views of the shady forest and blue sky that refreshes the eyes when the weather is clear.

 Genting Skyway is one of the two cable car systems serving Genting Highlands, travelling between Gohtong Jaya and the peak of the highlands. While Awana Skyway serves as the main method of transportation, Genting Skyway operates when the former undergoes maintenance and during busy periods, such as weekends and public or school holidays.

Throughout the 3.4 km-long journey, the gondola-style cable car offers breathtaking views of numerous landmarks within the highlands, including a 120-million-year-old rainforest, SkyAvenue Shopping Mall, Chin Swee Caves Temple and the upcoming 20th Century Fox Malaysia Theme Park. Depending on weather conditions, you’ll reach the Highlands Station within 15 to 20 minutes.



 A one-way ticket for the Genting Skyway cable car is priced at RM8 per person, making it one of the most affordable methods of transportation in Genting Highlands. After disembarking at the final station,  there are plenty of covered walkways which lead to prominent hotels and restaurants, as well as attractions such as SkyAvenue Shopping Mall, SkyCasino and Casino de Genting.
